What To and Not To Wear : To a Luncheon

Posted in How To :, Uncategorized by - May 01, 2012

Let’s get this straight. When you think a luncheon , and that too a 10th Anniversary one where you’re on the cover ( yes all ten of you)  , dressing like you’re out shopping  or coffee is not really acceptable. But then again , anything seems to work here . At the 10th anniversary lunch celebration for L’Officiel , B-town’s best stepped out with their Bottegas and Birkins in what seemed like a mix of coffee dates and cocktail party looks.

On the brighter side,  we did have a host of celebrities who did understand the dress code and lent their …

Double Take : Yellow Fellow

Posted in Celeb style by - Apr 24, 2012

How cute is this Yellow Zara Blazer ???!!!! With the right zip detaling at the waist , it was worn by two fabulous ladies this week , sporting two very different ways to wear it.

Mrs Ladakh paired hers with a black jumpsuit and a snake – skin Stella Bag. No complaints here , for once we have a well finished look.

P.S (How hot does Malaika look in Versace ?? )

Across the pond , our favorite badass popstar completed her look with leather leggings and maroon Doc Martens (she really had me there if you must ask). Also , on my …

Go Buy Now : Accessorize Color Block Satchels!

Posted in Style crush, Uncategorized by - Apr 23, 2012

I have an inherent love for satchels. My it bag list consists of three of them (out of five that is).  While hovering around the capital last weekend in a local mall , I came across color block satchels in Accessorize. Now I identify Accessorize with super cute but over priced accessories , but these bags were on a whole new level. Priced moderately between Rs 2500 to Rs 4000 , they are super versatile and handy. Kinda reminded me of the Marc Jacobs and Reed Karkoff Boxer spotted often by Ms Kapoor . Def a must buy !!

Cover Wars : April 2012

Posted in Uncategorized by - Apr 05, 2012

Which one is your favorite ?

Grazia : Deepika in Gucci Spring 2012. Make up , styling is bang on and the cover is a good mix of Vogue meets Instyle

Harper’s Bazaar : Meh !! Sonam isin’t doing it for me in this cover (In Ferragamo). Her head is oddly placed and the styling reminds me of Ash in the song ‘Dil Dooba Dil Dooba’ .

Elle : Current Miss India Kanishta Dhankar wearing the current trends for the summer. Cute.Young.Feel Good.

Vogue : The First Ladies of Bollywood. Sussanne (In Chanel + Louboutin) and Gauri (Marc Jacobs+Louboutin) try and play it up …

A Louis Vuitton Bag I Actually Like..

Posted in I really love my ..., Uncategorized by - Apr 02, 2012

I’d really not know where to start writing about LV.  You might not know me personally but ya’ll probably know my love-hate relationship with mass luxury brands (see monogram). I still haven’t decided if I hold a permenant grudge against Louis V , although my friends are convinced otherwise . See , being a business major I’m inclined to say nobody has their bread and butter down like these guys , which is very very good. On the other hand the blogger me will always associate it with the masses and extreme commercial marketing .  Like I explanied to the …

How To : Wear Pastels

Posted in How To : by - Mar 24, 2012

Pastels are my absolute favorite trend come this summer along with maxi skirts. Since it’s only March and my car’s already boiling come 10 am , only about time I start packing up my pullovers and knee high socks. Also summer’s are a pain as my body is pretty much jegging and jean repelling and very few things other than my Cottons Kurta stay on all day in the heat.

Which is why , if you’re like me , this post should excite you !

As clearly seen on the runway  everybody from Ralph Lauren and Christopher Kane have used pastels galore …

How To : Do the Roaring 20s

Posted in Style crush, Uncategorized by - Mar 15, 2012

So you know the whole world went 50s mad when Mad Men came out , and now that The Artist won at the Oscars , ya know everyone is going to be looking at the 20s for inspiration. (Not that we havent heard all about 20s-60s fashion already ). But inspite of a gazillion articles on wearing everything from the past (which Giorgio Armani strictly refuses to btw in a recent article btw) , I’ve been told its often confusing to spot differences between these eras. Its pretty simple actually ; fashion really has a 11 year shell life so from decade …

From BoF : India Inc – Beyond the Cashmere Crowd

Posted in News you can use by - Mar 03, 2012

Everyone’s been talking about India Inc – the grip is inevitable everywhere , be it power , consumption and of course Fashion . (Hello BRIC!!!)

Which is why I decided to post an interesting article from resident fashion encyclopedia- The Business of Fashion.  Written by fashion maverick Bandana Tiwari , Titled India Inc -   Thinking Beyond the Cashmere Crowd   , the article highlights what luxurybrands have only just begun to realize , that India’s cash rich are no more alone from the the Maximum City and political bourgeoisie , but from the new-new rich i.e the masses not the classes.

As analysed before,  in order to succeed …

Busy Few Days for Ms Kapoor

Posted in Runway by - Feb 27, 2012

This week hasnt been especially friendly . Did an entire post on Ms Kapoor only to find it miraculously disapperared along with all the picture. So here goes again..

For those who missed em , our resident fashionista has been having quite the run at international fashion weeks.

For starters , she absolutely killed it at the Roberto Cavalli Fall 2012 show. The darker tone that she sets looks absolutely dope ! Even Cavalli apparently tweeted her saying , ‘you were the perfect incarnation of the Cavalli Woman today at our Fashion Show! Thank you for coming!

I don’t see the negativity around …
